Begin Again by Taylor Swift (Song Review)

Video
Lyrics

Took a deep breath in the mirror
He didn't like it when I wore high heels
But I do
Turn the lock and put my headphones on
He always said he didn't get this song
But I do, I do
I walked in expecting you'd be late
But you got here early and you stand and wait
I walk to you
You pull my chair out and help me in
And you don't know how nice that is
But I do

And you throw your head back laughing
Like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny
Cause he never did
And I've been spending the last 8 months
Thinking all love ever does is
Break and burn and end
But on a Wednesday in a cafe
I watched it begin again

You say you never met one girl who
Had as many James Taylor records as you
But I do
We tell stories and you don't know why
I'm coming off a little shy
But I do
But you throw your head back laughing

Like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny
Cause he never did
And I've been spending the last 8 months
Thinking all love ever does is
Break and burn and end
But on a Wednesday in a cafe
I watched it begin again

And we walk down the block to my car
And I almost brought him up
But you start to talk about the movies
That your family watches
Every single Christmas
And I want to talk about that
For the first time
What's past is past

Cause you throw your head back laughing
Like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny
Cause he never did
And I've been spending the last 8 months
Thinking all love ever does is
Break and burn and end
But on a Wednesday in a cafe
I watched it begin again

But on a Wednesday in a cafe
I watched it begin again

Review
I think that Begin Again is one of the best songs of Taylor Swift's album, Red, because her vocals, the tempo, the lyrics work together so well. It's a catchy song, somewhat slow, but not too slow. The chorus is somewhat faster than the rest of the lyrics.
Begin Again is about Taylor's recovery from a relationship with a boy who did not understand her at all. She has a hard time recovering, but then a much better understanding and well-bred boy comes into her life and helps her see that she needs to give love another chance, that she can heal and love again. Begin Again really could be called Love Again.
Her voice projects the sadness and yet the hope she still has for the future. She can love again, even though so many relationships have failed. I feel like the lines, " Thinking all love ever does is break and burn and end, but on a Wednesday in a cafe, I watched it begin again" are true for her. She hasn't found true love yet (although it might be with the guy who helps her begin again, maybe) but she still hopes that one day she will.
I also really love the video. It's visually and artistically well done. The setting is just beautiful. I love how they put her by the river, int a garden, and on top of the roof when she's not in the coffee shop. It really makes the setting stand out more. This video was set in a really beautiful place. And also the guy in it is really cute, and so is Taylor.

Wishing everyone a good day! Comments appreciated and welcomed. Tell me what you think about Begin Again.
